Lie on your back and get into a comfortable position, with your arms slightly away from your sides, palms facing up towards the ceiling and feet about hip distance apart.
Close your eyes and observe your breath, and with each out breath feel yourself becoming even more relaxed.
Now as you breathe in, draw the colour red up through the soles of your feet, up your legs to the root chakra at the perineum. Then as you breathe out send the red out into the area around your body, your aura.
Next as your breathe in, take the colour orange, up through the soles of your feet to the sacral chakra just below your navel. Then as you breathe out send the orange out into the area around your body.
Now as you breathe in, take the colour yellow, up through the soles of your feet to the solar plexus area just below the breastbone. Then as you breathe out send the yellow out into the area around your body.
Again as you breathe in, take the colour green, up through the soles of your feet to the heart. Then as you breathe out send the green out into the area around your body. (If you prefer you can use pink here instead.)
Then as you breathe in, take the colour blue, up through the soles of your feet to the throat. And as you breathe out send the blue out into the area around your body.
Next as you breathe in, take the colour indigo, up through the soles of your feet to the third eye chakra, in the centre of your forehead above the bridge of your nose. Then as you breathe out send the indigo out into the area around your body.
Now as you breathe in, take the colour violet, up through the soles of your feet to the crown of your head. Then as you breathe out, send the violet out into the area around your body.
Now imagine all those colours around you, bathing you in a sea of rainbow colours, and just stay there for a few minutes.
Feel fully relaxed, at peace and energised.
When you’re ready, be aware of your surroundings, wriggle your fingers and toes, open your eyes and slowly get up.
